kunjubi, thank you. I have moved from the haunted place. You can read about that in 'Now That I'm Famous,' and 'The Maid Shall Inherit The Earth.'

Thank you once again for stopping by. :-)

Dear Big,

What to say! This has become one of my favourite blogs that I have read of late. So piercing and powerful it is that I could not help recommending this link to two of my friends to read.  Keep it up!

Edwin, thank you. I am glad you enjoyed it. It is indeed a matter of luck to have such Ammas, I admit.

Hello Mel, it is good to see you here. You are right, you know. I too think you should write about Maxine. I have found that reliving such moments sometimes takes us by surprise. It makes us realise of some emotions that we didn't stop by to feel while we were living in the moment. :-) Thanks for stopping by, good woman. I appreciate it.

Hiya BigM
That was some journey you took me along :-) And along you the way, you triggered some memories from about three years ago - of my ex-neighbour in the small Midwest town that we used to live. Maxine, a frail, old lady all of 97 years old (she would turn 101 this December if still alive). She would wait for me and my daughter to come back in the evenings and start talking as we parked and got out of our car. A few minutes of our time used to bring so much cheer and spark into her lonely existence. Maybe I will blog about her sometime.

Thanks for writing this, Big.
Regards
Mel

Mrs.Muffet, thank you. I am glad you found the read enjoyable. It is a true story. :-)

Hi Bigmojo,

The story makes one realise that life is a confused tangle of ambitions...and aspirations .........Aunt X' s  reproving gaze probably kept that lonely mind ticking at least for sometime with a  sense of  authority ... . Considering this is a true story...---YOU ARE A  TRUE MAN OF HUMANE  CHARACTER "  :)) God Bless !

The story's been imbued with gentle humour and I frankly ...loved the simplicity of  Aunt X :))))
Beautiful narration and it leaves the readers with a strong smell of inherent  loneliness of mankind :((
