Tagged By Indu. This felt vaguely like playing 'treasure hunt' and 'hide and seek' when I was a kid. Liked that feeling a lot. So, thank you Indu. This is a very easy exercise. The rules are very simple. All you have to do is:
Pick up the nearest book.
Open to page 123.
Find the fifth sentence.
Post the next three sentences.
Tag seven people, and acknowledge the person who tagged you . Add the rules.

So I picked up the nearest book. It happened to be 'One Hundred Years of Solitude – Gabriel Garcia Marquez.' I have been trying to re-read it for the last 3 months and have completed 14 pages so far. Something is terribly wrong with me these days, I know. I am more interested in telling you things I don't know that listening to people who know a lot. :-)
page 123, the three complete sentences from the 5th sentence:
His nostalgia disappeared with the mist and left an immense curiosity in its place. Only when they ordered him to put his back to the wall did Arcadio see Rebeca, with wet hair and a pink flowered dress, opening wide the door. He made an effort to get her to recognize him.
This is a most heart breaking scene when Arcadio faces the firing squad and is about to die in the next two sentences. His death is an integral part of the whole story. The opening line of the novel refers to this eventuality. I highly recommend this book. More because of the way Garcia weaves the story. The content is good, the form is superlative. And that is one reason why I am reading it again.
Here's an example of Garcia's appeal to me: 'The world was so recent that many things lacked names, and in order to indicate them it was necessary to point.'
Now, the 7 people I tag:
